2018 (SENIOR): Appeared in 11 games, starting nine, and helped the Aggies gain 5,590 total yards … paved the way for the SEC’s leading rusher in Trayveon Williams … led the Texas A&M offense in gaining 500-or-more yards of total offense in five games … given the teams Most Improved Offensive Lineman Award and the Senior Academic Award at the team’s annual banquet.

2017 (JUNIOR): Started in 12 games … helped lead the Aggie offense to 406.8 total yards of offense including 155.6 rushing and 251.2 through the air … started at RT at UCLA in which the Aggies rushed for 392 yards and five touchdowns … assisted the offense in gaining 562 yards against New Mexico , 501 versus Arkansas and 614 against Wake Forest.

2016 (SOPHOMORE): Saw action in eight games and started the final four games of 2016 … saw action at both guard positions … helped clear the way for a balanced Aggie offense that gained 467.0 yards per game, with 211.8 rushing and 250.0 passing yards per game … offense rushed for more than 200 yards in seven games and had 350-plus yards vs. Arkansas and Tennessee.

2015 (FRESHMAN): Emerged as the Aggies’ full-time starter at left guard … saw action in 12 games and made starts in seven, including the final six games of the regular season … helped clear the way for an offense that gained an average of 424.7 total yards per game (169.1 rushing and 255.6 passing) … the 2015 offense was the seventh group in school history to gain more than 5,000 total yards, 3,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in the same season … was an early enrollee.

HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Gerry Stanford at Flower Mound Marcus HS … U.S. Army All-American … earned first-team District 5-6A honors and All-Area honors from the Dallas Morning News as a senior … Sutherland graded out at 93 percent with 86 knockdowns and 43 pancakes … missed his junior season after earning district newcomer of the year honors as a sophomore … four-star prospect chose Texas A&M over Arkansas, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma and Texas.

Anyone who reads the site with regularity know that players making an impact as a true freshman always earn some bonus points in my mind. Sutherland arrived at Texas A&M at 17-years of age and was adapted his game to play SEC, right off the cuff.

The Flower Mound, Texas native continued to grow his game each year and was versatile enough to play both sides of the line and interchangeable at both guard and tackle. His play earned him an invitation to the East-West Shrine All-Star game, in which he pointed the arrows up after a solid week of practices.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds, Sutherland offers tremendous size. He displays pretty good hip flexibility being able to adjust and maneuver. Very sound technique along with smart and quick footwork.

Another thing to take notice of is the pipeline of offensive linemen the Aggies have produced over the last five years. The list includes Jermaine Eluemunor (2017 5th Round), Germain Ifedi (2016 1st Round), Cedric Ogbuehi (2015 1st Round, Jarvis Harrison (2015 5th Round), and Jake Matthews (2014 1st Round). There is something to take away from their recent run of success.

Sutherland has been groomed by a talented coaching staff prior to and after the arrival of Jimbo Fisher, that prepares their players for a successful NFL career. A big man who has enough athletic ability to compete for a back-up position and could turn into something more. Too many positive intangibles to ignore.
