Alexander had D1 offers coming out of Manual High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. During that time frame, his father required a surgery that nearly cost him his life and put Alexander’s gridiron future on hold. He remained close to home, bypassing those opportunities to help take of his father and look after his brother.
Eventually college football would find Alexander at Franklin College, where he would become an outstanding offensive weapon for the Grizzlies offense. In two seasons he would accumulate 2,133 receiving yards on 114 receptions and 33 touchdowns. It resulted in 29% of his catches resulting in six points. His athleticism combined with his raw ability at receiver immediately attracted the attention of NFL Scouts. NFL Scouts have also expressed serious interest in lining him up at defensive back again due to his quick hips and speed.
It is hard regardless of his D3 tag not to take notice of a guy who is 6-foot-2 and 196 pounds doing the things he showed in a limited college career. He attended the Indianapolis Colts local day and his agent Greg Linton said, “easier to name the ones (NFL teams) who have not been in touch over the last two weeks,” rather than the teams who have shown interest in Alexander.
Incredibly natural athlete, Alexander has outstanding speed and great leaping ability (37.5 vertical). He dominated D3 level of competition and his measurable numbers are equal to the top talent in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has a willingness to learn and humble demeanor to improve. He is raw, but talented. He’ll likely go undrafted and then make his impact in camp.
