What You Need to Know
Over the last eight NFL Drafts there have been 92 total quarterbacks selected and amongst those 92 passers 24 have gone in the first round overall. That is an average of 11.5 per year which also excludes many possible prospects from being listed because the reality is that very few are going to find their way onto an NFL roster. That is just the nature of the beast.

Bryan Lazare Tiger Details (Rivals) / @bldore
Burrow displays all the qualities of a leadership. He exudes toughness and does everything possible to make his teammates better. Burrow has earned the respect of the team in just one year. Burrow has a good, but not great arm. He needs to improve upon his accuracy during the 2019 campaign. Burrow is not fast, but does have the mobility to avoid the pass rush and be a running threat. He will have more designed runs called for him this season. Burrow is big enough to run over defensive players.

Tom Kakert Hawkeye Report (Rivals) / @HawkeyeReport
Nate Stanley is kind of out of central casting for an NFL quarterback. He’s big and sturdy at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds and he has a strong arm. Stanley improved his accuracy last season, completing over 60% of this throws. He’s not all that mobile, which would be a concern at the NFL level and has struggled at times to go through his read progressions when under pressure. In his first year as a starter, while having a strong arm, Stanley had difficulty connecting on deep passes. That improved in his junior year, but it’s still not a strong part of his game.
One thing with Stanley that has grown in the past year is his vocal leadership. He naturally a fairly quiet person who leads by action and not words, but that part of his personality has improved in the last year. Now he is one of the vocal leaders on the Iowa team, but he is still more comfortable leading by action and example.
I think he’s certainly an NFL quarterback from a physical and mental perspective, but the question will be is he a long term backup or a player that can develop into a starter in the right environment?

6. Jalen Hurts

BIG-12
Height 6’2” Weight 218
Last Three Sooners quarterbacks drafted
2019 – Kyler Murray Round 1

Tyler Palmateer Norman Transcript / @Tpalmateer83
“It wasn’t an ideal stage, but Hurts proved accurate and capable of making a number of different throws in OU’s spring scrimmage — which is supposed to be a knock against him. He looked great on his feet and people have raved about his lower body strength.
“His leadership reputation is off the chart. Hurts’ teammates and coaches love him. He began his introductory press conference at OU with a long statement recited from memory, something I can’t remember seeing a player do in this particular scenario. Seems like a very mature guy who’d have value on a team regardless of his playing time.”

Adam Munsterteiger BuffStampede.com (Rivals) / @adamcm777
Steven Montez has all the physical tools to not only get selected in next April’s draft but also enjoy a long career in the NFL. He has a solid 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame, a strong arm, and enough athleticism to move around in the pocket or get out and run when in trouble. Early on during Montez’s college career, his maturity was questioned, but he never got in any real trouble off the field. He has a lot of moxie, which has bred both good and bad results. Montez has had a propensity to throw off his back foot at times, so some retooling of his technique might be required at the next level. Although Montez has not been super consistent, a lot of that has been a result of poor offensive line play in 2017 and 2018. And his 6,400 yards of total offense the last two seasons is the most in back-to-back seasons at Colorado by more than 400 yards.
