Tyler Ervin’s father ran a 10.2 100-yard dash, which helps explain the God-given speed. Ervin arrived at San Jose State serving as both a defensive back and running back as a freshman. The need for running back fast-forwarded his career at San Jose State and he quickly became a critical part of the offense. Character is off the charts for the San Jose State running back. A deeper look behind the scenes reveals a college student who set-up his own barbershop in his dining room. Folks on campus realized that besides his outstanding production on the field his other ability was giving his clients a great haircut. 

Ervin is a smooth, fast runner who can catch the ball and return. Well built with adequate size and exceptional speed make him a very interesting prospect moving forward.

His biggest impact at the Senior Bowl was his understanding of the plays and picking up quickly on the nuances of the offensive scheme being used. Ervin simply glides on his feet. The quick burst to top gear is an effortless chore and almost disguises how fast he really is on the field.

The first-team All-Mountain West running back ranked second nationally with 202.85 all-purpose yards per game and finished the season with 1,601 rushing yards. Standing at 5-foot-10 and 192 pounds he proved his durability with his 42 carry, 300 rushing yard performance against UNLV.
