The interesting thing about Murray is that he did not post eye-popping statistics at Florida State, but his body of work as a receiver has made the former Seminole product a desired commodity by NFL evaluators. It is the pureness in his technique and athleticism that made him intriguing enough to earn a invite to the most desired invite an collegiate football player can receive in preparation to the NFL Draft.

It reminds me of two other Florida State receivers selected in the 2000 NFL Draft. Peter Warrick was the 4th overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals and was the talk of the NFL Draft due to his extraordinary skills. However, it was the relatively unknown Laveranues Coles was drafted in the third round and had a much lengthier and more productive NFL career.

Murray is sort of the underdog receiver at this stage despite his invitation to the NFL Combine, he remains a bit off the radar compared to the higher profile receiver prospects. Remember it is NFL Scouts that put together the list of 340 men who will attend the combine and Murray was one of those men.

The reasons are because he possesses get off and should post excellent timed speed to match the quickness he displays in the open field. Murray is crafty and knows how to set up defensive backs and works hard to find open holes in zones. Ultra-competitive with a warrior mentality to win every down. Runs crisp routes. Gets in and out of his breaks quickly. Good football intelligence. Willing blocker. Murray has the vertical speed to eventually could develop into a solid No. 2 receiver. He is a collegiate player who can exceed his college production at the next level.
