2014 (Freshman): Was ticketed for a redshirt until an injury to Daxx Garman thrust him into the starting lineup in week 11 at No. 6 Baylor and he responded by turning in the most passing yards ever for an Oklahoma State player in his first game (281) … Etched his name into OSU Bedlam lore by quarterbacking the Cowboys to the second-largest fourth-quarter come-from-behind victory in school history as part of their 38-35 overtime win over the No. 18 Sooners in Norman … Rudolph’s 273 passing yards against OU were the second-most ever for an OSU quarterback in a Bedlam Series game and his two touchdown passes that day tied for third-most ever for a Cowboy against the Sooners … In the four games prior to Rudolph’s insertion into the lineup, OSU averaged 10.0 points and 286.5 yards of total offense per game, but with Rudolph at quarterback, the Cowboys averaged 32.0 points and 418.3 yards of total offense per game in the final three contests, all of which were away from home against quality opponents … In his debut against Baylor, Rudolph thrived despite a number of factors that would typically hamper a quarterback’s performance – the game was played on the road in a driving rain storm and Rudolph played the majority of the contest with three freshmen and a sophomore on the offensive line facing a Baylor squad that entered the contest ranked 14th nationally in total defense … Still, he completed 13-of-25 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears for the best debut for a Cowboy signal caller in school history … On his 13 completions, Rudolph passed for more yards (281) than Baylor’s Heisman Trophy candidate Bryce Petty did on 18 completions (262) … In the Cactus Bowl against Washington, he had his best outing of the year with 299 passing yards (the most ever for a Cowboy freshman in a bowl game) and two touchdowns.

Rudolph made an impact his freshman season after he had to step up and in for then injured quarterback Daxx Graham. The senior quarterback at that time helped lead the Cowboys to their second-largest fourth-quarter come-from-behind win in school history in their 38-35 overtime win over the Oklahoma Sooners on the road. Since then he has steadily built his NFL resume for the NFL Draft. He excels at standing in the pocket and surveying his targets downfield.
