Donovan comes from a very athletically gifted family. His grandfather (Butch Donovan) was an All-American at Western Montana and his father (Kevin Donovan) was a letterman on SUU’s baseball team and played professionally.
Rare size for a long snapper, and has excelled from the get go, by being recruited in high school after his freshman season and was gaining national attention from Alabama to Notre Dame, and chose Southern Utah due to his desire to do mission trip.
Currently, Donovan is about a month ahead of schedule in his rehab from a September ACL injury that robbed him from snapping all season for the Cowboys at Wyoming. He has been diligent in his craft and has worked with Jamie Kohl and Ben Bernard, who both rank as some of the best teachers in the art of the long snap.
Barring his setback from last year, in the season opener, Donovan would be making his tour amongst some of the major all-star games and a patient team looking for a long-term solution at long snapper will welcome the 6-foot-4 and 250 pound, Utah native.
