Long athletic build with the frame to bulk up. Long arms and is naturally athletic. Good closing speed to get to the quarterback and plays until the whistle. Can be late off the ball and doesn’t have superb quickness off the snap and can be pushed around. He uses his long arms well to swim past blockers. Shows good chase speed and gives great effort. One player from last years draft class I liked a lot was former Norfolk State defensive end Lynden Trail who was selected in went unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft. He signed with the Houston Texans and currently has a futures contract with the Washington Redskins. Both Nelson and Trail have similar frames and ability and their Pro Day numbers are nearly identical. Nelson will get a look and the CFL will be another option with his athletic ability.
