Good size 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds and moves around like he is 290. Only missed three game his entire collegiate career and has given up only one sack. Grew up as a bigger kid, but sprouted in high school to emerge as the individual he is today.
During his time at Winston-Salem State he played both left and right tackle. The offense is designed with the ‘Strong Tackle’ and ‘Quick Tackle’ and he played ‘Strong Tackle’ which could very each play. Prior to his arrival at WSSU he also played some defensive end at Missouri Western State.
Loves to work, when he was in high school he would wake his parents up around 7am and ask if he could take the car to go practice reps and drills. That intense work ethic followed Polite to Winston Salem State, where he developed a unity and bond amongst his offensive linemen teammates.
Group text and workouts among the group helped build the team from a 6-5 2015 record to a 9-3 finish in 2016. Polite holds his own at the point of attack and is naturally strong. Finishing off plays and relishes in the ability to get up field and make blocks.
Durable missing only three games, he has proven to be internal leader of Rams offensive line. He is a very functional athlete and can maintain position and wall off defenders.
The small-school label will follow him through this process and his opportunity in camps will allow him to build his NFL resume for scouts. The level of talent he played against will also be commonly spoken moving forward.
Overall, a huge and humble giant with one of the most team oriented personalities I’ve come across in the ten plus years of this podcast. That has to count for something.
