– What type of scheme did you run in college? What did coaches ask of you.
NFL Prospect – At Tulsa we ran a 4-3 base cover 4 bracket scheme in which I was asked majority of the time to play 1 on 1 coverage on the outsides and about 65% of the time towards the boundary.
– What are the hallmark qualities of your ability on the field that NFL Scouts will immediately identify?
NFL Prospect – My size and physicality combined with my arm length, quickness, and speed. Also when you watch my film my 1 on 1 coverage is where I’m very strong.
– What positive abilities go hidden?
NFL Prospect – As great as I am covering man to man my zone coverage is as good if not even better. I have a natural knack for anticipating routes depending on WR alignments, tendencies, situations, and formations. As far as leadership, I’ve always been a lead by example guy because I was taught actions speak volumes over words.
– What is something positive said to you by coaches that motivates you to keep getting better?
NFL Prospect – I was told often by my coaches that I was the heart beat of our secondary. With all the adversity I’ve overcome through the years I play with so much passion and tenacity and that energy is something our defense fed off of. This motivated me to not only give off a great energy but to lead by example and prove leadership through my performance.
– Was there anything ever said negative that helps you grind towards your goal that you use as motivation? Who said it?
NFL Prospect – My biggest motivation comes from within. There’s nothing negative anyone has or can tell me that can motivate me anymore that I motivate myself. I am my biggest critic.
– Anything interesting as a person we should know about you or hobbies?
NFL Prospect – I have an old soul. Old school r&b and soul music relaxes me. I enjoy listening to older music whenever I want to relieve a little stress.
– Any contact with any NFL teams?
NFL Prospect – No personal contact with teams
– Height/Weight leaving high-school and current height/weight now?
NFL Prospect – Leaving highschool I was 5’9″ 175 I’m now 5’10 195
– Where you a team captain in college?
NFL Prospect – I have been an honorary captain twice (we switch captains weekly)
– How many concussions have you had?
NFL Prospect – I’ve had 1 concussion in my career
– How many career starts?
NFL Prospect – 12 career starts
– Two good reasons to pay taxes?
NFL Prospect – Pay taxes because it’s the law and if you don’t it will catch up to you possibly leaving you with nothing or in jail
– Have you ever been arrested?
NFL Prospect – Never been arrested
– One word to describe your ability on the field?
NFL Prospect – Tenacious
– Would you rather be a cat or a dog?
NFL Prospect – Dog
Jokes his first contact day in pads he was crying and telling his mother he didn’t want to do it anymore (six or seven years old), but after that he ended up loving the physicality of the game. Williams is a big physical guy who can run. Shows some catch-up speed. Will hit and support in the run. Played a lot on the boundary and is tough competitor. Shows awareness in zone coverage and is able to stick his man in a short area. Desent feet and solid cover skills. Williams shows good effort in pursuit. Has a chance to make a team as an extra defensive back who plays plays in nickel coverage or dime coverage schemes. Williams is a guy who can develop and take the next step. Excited to see him moving forward and feel the best football is ahead of him.
