"Growing up I did track and played football but I was always the big play guy," said Pead and adding "I didn’t start playing running back until late in my high school years but always have had that big play mentality." His big play mentality was evident with Pead breaking off big play return yards in the 2012 Senior Bowl, while returning punts. Pead was the first player in Bearcats school history to have back to back 1,000 yard rushing seasons.

"When I signed my letter of intent" said Pead when realizing that the National Football League was in his future adding "I'm a very confident person."

"My physicality, I'm well under-sized as a running back, but like the old saying goes, "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog", "I'm passionate about the game, I just love playing."

"I can definitely make a guy miss in open space or in tight holes. My poise and calmness in any situation either up by 100 or down by 100 or in a close game with :30 seconds, outside of the quarterback the teams needs another guy to be that way."

Pead reminds me of Tiki Barber who was ranked about 60th overall when coming out of Virginia back in 1997. Although Pead comments his game might mimic that of Miami Dolphins Reggie Bush and his New Orleans Saints replacement Darren Sproles. At the very least Pead should be an excellent third-down back who can return punts and kicks. Can be the first or second down back but not the body to absorb 20-25 carries per game. The former Bearcat will look to gain more weight and said he is around 5% body fat and he is so lean that his trainers are working on a nutrition system to add that mucsle to his frame.
