2015-16: An honorable mention All-Sun Belt selection … Started all 13 games … Led the team with 107 tackles (48u, 59a) … Included in that total is 10.5 tackle for loss for 37 yards and 4.0 sacks for 22 yards … Also had a team-high four forced fumbles, two quarterback hurries and three pass breakups … Was on the field for 672 defensive snaps … Recorded six or more tackles in every game … Tallied 12 tackles (2u, 10a) against Appalachian State… Registered nine tackles against The Citadel (2u, 7a), Idaho (4u, 5a), New Mexico State (5u, 4a), and Georgia (6u, 3a)… Had a sack in four games … Forced a fumble in three contests … Had 10 tackles in the GoDaddy Bowl against Bowling Green.

Repeatedly I scribble his #37 in my notes on the positive abilities he possessed on the field. He passes the eyeball test and has the desired NFL frame for the position of linebacker. More importantly he possesses the athleticism to move sideline to sideline and can play in space. Williams shows up in all phases of the game and can stay on the field for all three downs. He locates the ball regularly snap after snap and sheds block to stay clean. Ideally he has the mental make-up and ability to play in the NFL for and extended time. Solid character and leader he’ll fit nicely into almost any defensive scheme.
